The divinely inspired and infallible Word of God as contained in the canon of the Old and New Testament is the highest source and norm of faith and practice.

Sola Gratia

This same Word of God also teaches that such grace, that is the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, is applied to us through means or sacraments.

Sola Fide

God’s Word also teaches that it is only through faith that we may receive our salvation by grace.

Lutheran Church of the Ascension is a liturgical community formed by Christ in Baptism and gathered around the Word of God, prayer, and the Lord’s Supper. Through His Church, Jesus seeks to draw all people to Himself, forgiving their sins by His death on the cross and sanctifying them for a life of love for God and service to neighbor. Our life together centers on the Holy Mass (Divine Service), which is celebrated each Sunday at 10:00 AM. Lutheran Church of the Ascension is a congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
